If time is a vessel to collect stories of one object. When things get older, it had create it own meaning and identity. Or in other words, we could
said that when thing getting older, more valuable it become. The archive of informations that had been collected through time can make us understand the development and seeing value behind things.
The same story goes to “Craft”. It value’s hidden within object, which goes beyond time. Left behind
to younger generation. Each creation of mankind becomes a seed of knowledge that contain our
ancestor wisdom that grow up everyday through
time. It would not be a bad idea to turning back
and take a look of it again with new different perspective. Because of historical aspect that contain behind its curved arms, the anonymous
chair was selected as a representative object to
tell the story of craft. Combining of old, modern
and newly design chair.These 32 anonymous chairs were interpreted in term of process , material ,
form, quality, and time. Those terms were used
as standard criteria to analyse the meaning of the word “craft” that evolve through time.
After talking with us through these the 32
anonymous chairs. We hope that you will give an opportunity to the word “craft”, to redefine its own definition with new open perspective.
